The International Conifer Conservation Programme: The "Edinburgh Collection" of endangered conifers - established in 1991, is a joint research programme managed by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, with staff from the New York Botanical Garden, which integrates in situ with ex situ conservation, through horticulture, scientific research, and training in the UK and abroad. The programme is currently monitoring 8,000 plants in 130 sites of which "The Lovell Quinta Arboretum" is one.
